Item Bleeding nasal polyp in a child, treated with individualised homoeopathy: A case report(2023) Sonny, RanjitIntroduction: A nasal polyp (NP) is a type of growth inside the nose or sinuses typically presenting with nasal congestion, nasal obstruction and anosmia or hyposmia. It is amenable to the individualised homoeopathic treatment. In this case, we present how an NP in a female child was successfully treated with individualised homoeopathy. Case Summary: A case of NP in a 5-year-old female child presented to the outpatient department in November 2021. It was bleeding frequently, especially when hurt. It blocked the right nostril and was visible from the outside. Acidum nitricum (Acid-nit) was prescribed based on the totality of symptoms. After a few follow-ups, the patient started improving and the bleeding stopped. The size of the polyp also diminished gradually. Within 1 and ½ months of starting treatment, the polyp disappeared. This case is a testimony of the usefulness of homoeopathy in NPs. Further research could define the role of homoeopathy in the management of NPs.Item Case of lumbar spondylosis treated with Homoeopathic medicine Calcarea fluorica(2019) Sonny, RanjitChronic Low Back Pain (CLBP) is one of the most common problems with which people of all age groups report to physicians. It is a very troublesome complaint affecting day to day life, leading to decreased productivity. Amongst all the causes, lumbar spondylosis is one of the major causes of CLBP. Lumbar spondylosis commonly affects middle to later age groups. This case report describes patient with symptoms of recurrent pain in low back for the last 10 years. X ray of the lumbosacral (L.S.) spine showed features of osteophyte confirming the diagnosis of lumbar spondylosis. After careful case taking, homoeopathic medicine Calcarea fluorica in different potencies was prescribed as per homoeopathic principles with ever increasing improvement. Pain in the low back gradually diminished. Ultimately, the patient got rid of all the symptoms with general improvement. After that, he was on placebo for 5 months. X ray of the L.S spine done after treatment revealed no feature of lumbar spondylosis along with remission of osteophyte.Item Immunoglobulin E modulatory effect of individualised Homoeopathy in a child suffering from immunological, chronic spontaneous urticaria(Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, 2025) Sonny, Ranjit; Parui, PatranuIntroduction: Urticaria is one of several immune-mediated diseases. It is very troublesome and hampers the quality of life significantly. Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is associated with red, oedematous, erythematous, raised and itchy wheals with or without angioedema. A serological marker such as immunoglobulin E (IgE) is raised in urticaria, which is one of the diagnostic criteria of urticaria. The successful treatment lies in the fact of controlling or immunomodulating the IgE level. As per available data, Homoeopathy is very effective for the management of urticaria by bringing down the serum IgE level within normal limits. Case Summary: A 10-year-old female child visited the outpatient department with the complaint of urticaria along with increased serum IgE level. In the first visit, all the symptoms, objective and subjective, were collected, followed by framing of the totality of symptoms and repertorisation. The anti-allergic medication before the visit was gradually tapered off. The MONARCH score of +7 proved the causal attribution between the medicine and the outcome in the patient. The eruption of urticarial rashes eventually stopped, and the IgE level was restored to normal range. This case study reveals a positive role of homoeopathic treatment in immune-mediated diseases such as urticaria.
